The beginnings of a range.....

My nephew moved to a nice place on a mountain in East Tenn. back in November and we had been discussing his shooting range plans.
I suggested setting up using the hill side as his backstop. So he sent me a couple of pics of the first try and I do believe his daughter did well helping
make the target. Think he is going to put up a timber wall of some type to catch bullets and to hold targets as well.
He has about 40 acres most all wooded.
Have to make a visit later in the year to check the place out!

Love the arm over the top of the stock and the butt plate in limbo. Been there and done that with my petite wife.

That’s beautiful country, this pine tree surrounded northern boy really appreciates what I assume are hardwood forests.

His daughters target is priceless. :D

Looks very similar to where I shoot on the property at our summer cabin.

Super setup for a range. Using a natural backstop is great. I'm not sure you could make a better setup than that.

That looks like a fine place to practice against cardboard criminals! Put a couple gongs up that hillside and shoot away.

I think if he can get a tractor in there and dig straight into the rise that would leave a nice wall on three sides.
He's just getting started on doing some things around the place including planning on a detached garage.

Yeah, the target is great. Lots of potential in that place for a range.

that looks like a great place. That's a dream of every shooter I think. Either living on acreage or having a place close by to shoot that's NOT a public range
