July 13 Range Report BB45Colt

Post by RanchRoper » Wed Jul 13, 2016 6:51 pm

Good day here for shootin'! Not much wind. Shot 25 and 50 yard ranges. My favorite ammo, Winchester 250 gr LFN. I'm ok with the results today. Just went for it and had fun! Sadly, only took 50 rounds with me or I'd still be there... :D
At 25 yds shot last 4 rounds and tried to put 1 in each corner target.

Now that range is a real range. Don't tell me you were shooting on a horse at a gallop.

Not quite. That's a trick I can only do once. Not polite to shoot at the cows either.

You are at home on the range with the Henry. Excellent shooting and the spectators are probably happy that shooting them would be considered rude.

Nice shooting, RR. For off hand work with open sights, I would take that every day.

I need to follow your example and only take 50 rounds when I go to the range. I have a bad habit of putting two 100-round boxes in my truck and then I can't leave until they are all gone. Lots of fun, but expensive!

Or the difference between being a good shot (you) and a bad shot (me).

I have to keep shooting and hoping I improve. It takes a lot of ammo for me to delude myself that I am getting better!

You shot well, and the range is beautiful.

Thanks all. The range is actually across the road to the left of this photo. I guess these cows here lots of gunfire. Sometimes the range is closed for a morning or afternoon when the RCMP use it for practice. I see their targets in the trash bins. Curious, I had a look at a few of them; you would not want to mess with these guys, holy smokes they are good shots. They use those body targets from the waist up, and they don't miss the vital areas at all.
