Sorry to hear about the revolver. But I can vouch for the Uberti. They are solid as a rock. Definitely agree that having a local smith get the screw out is a good idea.

Update on my 18 month old HRR.

I had a gunsmith remove the broken end of the trigger screw, which he did without damaging the threads and at a cost of $35; but he didn't have a replacement screw. So, I called Heritage to order the part - a trigger screw. I really couldn't believe what I thought I heard, so I asked her to repeat it. Incredibly, I heard correctly. They charged $18.34 to my credit card and said it will take 7 to 10 days to arrive.

What I've learned from this is that not everyone values their customers and stands behind their workmanship like the Henry Repeating Arms Company! In fact, it seems to me that some -- like Heritage Arms -- will go out of their way to guarantee that current customers never return. That's what they did for me.

Update on the Update...

As you know, yesterday I ordered the trigger screw from Heritage, even though the cost was outrageous. Later in the day, I was told by a friend of an online site where I could buy it for $3, shipping included.

So, this morning, two minutes after they opened for business, I called Heritage to cancel my order. They were happy to do that for me, but told me that they could only refund the cost of screw, $4.00. They would still "have to" charge my credit card for the $14 shipping cost.

I decided to let the order stand and I expressed my sympathy to the CS rep, telling her I was so very sorry that she had to work for a company like Heritage, and I wished her the best.

Well, glad you are going to at least have your revolver repaired, but $53 to replace a screw does seem a "little" out of line. Especially on a sub-$200 firearm.

You have convinced me to shoot my Rough Rider until it falls apart and then use it for a paperweight. :) Except, no one uses paper anymore, so I guess it wouldn't even be useful for that.

I bought a Heritage 22.22mag not long ago and very pleased with the quality considering the low price. First of all, they are made by Heritage and not by Taurus. There big bore guns are bought from a company in Italy, and assembled in America by Heritage. Yes, you do see the occasion "bad" gun appear, for the most part I have seen nothing but really great reviews. I buy through Buds, and always pay a little extra for their life time warranty.
I also bought a Ruger Blackhawk in 357/9mm and that pistol is solid. I imagine by the looks of the quality that it will out last just about any firearm made. Sorry to hear you have a problem with your Heritage. I can't imagine that Heritage would turn down fixing a gun just over a year. That does suck. I would make one more call to Customer Service and ask for a Manager, be nice and just give it one more try.
If they refuse, they the bad publicity will be worse for them. I wish you luck.

My Heritage is a older one and is accurate even though it is non-adjustable sight model. It needed the front sight higher so I built the sight up with acra-glas died black and worked it down until it was on target. I liked it so well I went and bought a brand new adjustable sight model. Never seen any thing wrong with it at the shop. I got it home and the muzzle crown looked like it was done with a dull drill bit. I took it back to the shop and all the others were the same. I lost $25 selling it back to the dealer. Lessen learned is buy the Ruger for more money and buy once. There is videos on the internet on how to work on Heritage revolvers and they are easy to work on as they are quite simple.

I bought the Blackhawk for a number of reason. One very important reason was the fact that I am a dedicated Ruger fan.I know their customer service. It is one of the best no correction, it is the best customer service of any product I have ever purchased, and I not just speaking about guns. I have owned Rugers for years. And yes, even Ruger can send out a firearm that may develop a problem. But, they take responsibility and provide the service and do it quickly. I now own about 7 or 8 Rugers. From what I have read after purchasing a Henry, they do have this quality of Customer service which meant a lot to me in my decision to own a lever action 22.
*Note: As mentioned in another post, I did buy my Heritage from "Buds gun shop. I elected to get their " extended life time warranty for the Heritage. Cost was like $10.00. Maybe something to consider for future firearm purchase.

When I get poor customer service I am notorious for going up company ladders as far as I have to until I get some sort of satisfaction. I don't yell, curse or throw tantrums but I know from experience that the higher I go, the more costly it is for the company to make me happy. And I make sure they know it. Don't give up, go after them. $180 is not chump change and they need to back up what they sell with some service to their "valued" customer.
