10/19/16 More CZ Magic
Re: 10/19/16 More CZ Magic
PT, when I had my own backyard range down in Louisiana, I did mostly offhand shooting. Up here I shoot at a "real" range, mostly from a bench with sand bags.

Re: 10/19/16 More CZ Magic
Every time I see a CZ range report I wonder why I don't have one yet.
Okay I also drool a little bit. It seems to be a Pavlovian response to beautiful rifles and great targets.
I really need to find a good 100 yard range so I will have no excuse not to have one of these amazing rifles.

Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.

Do you have a 50 yard range? Actually, 100 yards is considered stretching it for .22 rifles. Most people seem to shoot them at 25 and 50 yards.RetiredSeabee wrote:Every time I see a CZ range report I wonder why I don't have one yet.

As for the 452 I bought, I ordered it from Whittaker Guns. Including shipping, and a $25 transfer fee from my FFL, it was still well under $400. An outstanding value, in my opinion.
The 452 is officially discontinued by CZ (with the exception of left hand models), but for some reason they still make them. The newer model 455's are of course available all over the place, in a full range of models. They tend to cost around $450, though. As a grumpy old guy, I prefer the 452, but most people seem to say the newer 455's are just fine.
I wish I had gotten a CZ sooner.

I prefer the 452 for shooting but the 455 is much easier to work on and modify. I think Whittaker is the only one importing them.

No sir, right now I am stuck with a 25 yard indoor range.ditto1958 wrote:Do you have a 50 yard range? Actually, 100 yards is considered stretching it for .22 rifles. I don't mind shooting my 10/22 there and I have Ruger American Rimfire that I take occasionally but would like to stretch it out to 50 or better.

According to the date on your target you didn't shoot that first target until next month.
I think I might get started shooting my targets a month in advance because we may get bad weather and can't shoot.
Enough harassing you in good fun. Any way that is some really good 100 yd. shooting with your CZ. They are amazing how well they shoot and are affordable and well made.

Good report and terrific shooting with a great rifle! At my age I would never try past 50 yds. with iron sights, probably should drop back to 25!

Lol. That's just one of many features CZ offers with their rifles. Can't make it to the range next week? No problem. Your CZ will shoot for you in advance.bandit1250 wrote:According to the date on your target you didn't shoot that first target until next month.![]()
