Re: RifleTom @ The Range!
I dunno Tom looks to me like that group at 50 with 8.5 grains in really good for iron sights. I dont see anything wrong with that group out of those old eyes. Ifin it was me Id call it done deal buy more bullets and use some of the scope money for a celebration drink. Just sayin

Hmm, "more bullets and a celebration drink". I like your thinking Al! Pretty much 50 yards would be all, maybe some 75 yard stuff. I believe you've said it right.

I too have the Weaver 1-3x20 on my BBS 357. Nice to know you like it, as I have not used mine much yet. BTW, that does sound like a good price for one! I paid in the vicinity of $160.00.Rifletom wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2019 10:12 amOnce I got set-up, I shot the .45 Colt[all paper targets] at 50 yards, factory sights. I'm pretty happy with that load for my plinking purposes. But, the BB brass in .357 stole the show. I was shooting at the far berm, about 90-100 yards back and hitting broken clay pigeon bits with ease. Those Missouri coated LRNFP 158's and 12.0gr 2400 were the ticket. Having the Weaver 1-3x20mm scope really helps tho. Which btw, is on sale at Natchez.com for $139.99. Can't beat that.
More range shooting next week. My 30-30 needs it! Thanks a ton Evan!

.
Several online places say they have been discontinued. Those that have them list $189.99 (MSRP $290.95). You both did well.

I just looked at Natchez' site again. Still have 'em @ $139.99. Why, I may surprise myself for Father's Day!

If I do buy one of those Weaver's, it'll go on my Mod 94 30-30, which wears a very nice Weaver Classic K4. Wheels always turning here. Heck, I usually don't know what I'll wind up doing!
