A little unplanned upgrade this morning. Site is working ok it seems.
Finally
Finally
I finally got my new BBB 44 mag octagon carbine to the range. I had replaced the stock sights with a set of fiber-optic sights for easier aiming. After 5 rounds I had them adjusted, and I went to work on a set of gongs at about 30 yards offhand. I was able to bang even the small 3" gong with no issues. Cycling was flawless with Federal 240 JHP's. Once I was quite comfortable I moved back to 50 yards and was ringing the 8" gong offhand cycling at a pretty brisk pace. The way that lead just slams that heavy steel around was impressive. I am quite happy with how this rifle performs....now for some handloads!

Re: Finally
I am going to start with a 240 gr semi-wadcutter over 19grs IMR4227. I've got 100 virgin brass and 500 pieces of lead ready to go. Not going to make any fire breather loads.
