Range day! Time for some old west revolver shootin'.
My Cimarron SA Colt Richards cartridge conversion, an 1860 style black powder revolver converted to shoot cartridges in 1871. 45 Colt caliber. 8" barrel, walnut Army style grip. This is a super nice revolver to shoot. It's a hefty one. Rear notch sight in the hammer. Here it is for my American saddle pals for the 4th of July.

Hot day, 85F with not much breeze. The range is pretty dried out and in need of some rain. First up is 25 yards, 1 hand, and 10 rounds of Remington 250 gr LRN. First time I've ever shot at that distance. Up to now it's always been 15 yds. Good pistol ammo, but not my favorite in the Henry rifle. 9 rounds in the 8" circle.

Then just for the heck of it, 50 yds with 2 hands. I just wanted to see if I could even get on the paper at that distance. 12" square target, 10 rounds. 6 in the black, 2 just off the grid and a couple in the wood. I don't know how often I'd shoot 50 yds, it's a bit of a crapshoot. But I just wanted to see what happens.

At 50 yards that 12" square has to look like a postage stamp. Good shooting Sir.

It is kinda small, that's why I had to cheat and use 2 hands.....I could not steady it with 1 hand....need to eat more Wheaties I guess.

I have never shot my pistol at 50 yards. You're inspiring. I will give it a try and post the results.
