!0/22 plinking today

Post by BigAl52 » Tue Apr 29, 2025 6:36 pm

I know Hatch has one but I thoroughly enjoyed plinking today with my Ruger 10/22 LVT. Has the Hogue black rubber like stock which has a very nice feel to it. Cant say enough of how much fun it was plinking at about 35 yards at clay targets on a bank. Mine has a Cylee green dot on the pic rail that comes already installed on the gun as in comes with no sights and a threaded barrel. Its easily my favorite 22 to shoot. I have quite a few of the stock mags which is all I need and also a Maglulu mag loader that once you get the hang of makes it very easy and fast to load the magazines

Here is a link to the one I have. I shot about 250 rounds in the 10/22 today without one malfunction. My LVT also has the BX trigger which makes it very nice to shoot.

Good for you, Al. Hard to beat a 10/22 for plinking fun. Wish I could get one to cycle the CCI Quiets I use for our backyard shooting, but no luck getting them to cycle.

I also use the BX trigger on most of our 10/22s, especially the old vintage ones. Those early metal triggers were generally pretty heavy and not very shooter friendly. Only takes a few minutes to swap out for a BX trigger and start shooting, though.

Great little shooters they are Al ! I have the youth model 10/22 with gray polymer stock and great sights. A fun light weight carbine I bought for my granddaughter to shoot. Very accurate and fun to shoot!

Good afternoon there, Al. I don't own a 10/22 any more, gave one each to the youngest several years ago.
What ammo were you using? What does it prefer?

Was using the 40 gr CCI mini mag and Aguila super extra I think they call it. I might also add the LVT model barrel starts at .930 which is the size of the bull barrel and tapers to . 730 at the muzzle. Gun shoots both of the brands of ammo mentioned very well

Glad you got the LVT out for some exercise. 250 rounds is a bunch of magazine reloading. :D

One of my (stock) 10/22's I have zeroed at 200 yards for a long gong challenge. Using Blaser 40gr it can hit a 10" gong just about every time.
