I nearly got the car stuck crossing the creek, had to back up halfway across and make a second run at it. Of course I’m driving the car with the least aggressive tires of the ones I own.
I think the known issues are taken care of. If you have any issues or know of another member who is having issues, PM daytime dave. As we head towards the holidays, hunt with your Henry.
Still winter at the range
Still winter at the range
We made a trip up north to the property to check the conditions after winter. Well, no can do as winter is still there. Lots of snow still. The shop building has a very poor concrete floor and suffers from frost heave. It’s still “heaved” so bad that the two deadbolts I have on it will not open. Before i put the deadbolts on the passage lock would open but the door would hang up on the floor. I ground down the concrete so the door would open but didn’t consider the deadbolts. Oh well spring will arrive sometime.

But I made it in. Lots of snow up near the range as well as lots of small trees bent over from the snow load. I didn’t hike further but I’m sure I’ll have dozens of small trees to cut down. I’m thinking another month or so before I can use the property. Big difference between there and here at home.

We used to deal with snow like that in the winter, and spring mud.
Probably the reason we are solidly truck people.
Pretty place though.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I'm sharing similar difficulties Hatch. We had temps in the 50s yesterday, so I got out the quad and took a ride around collecting chips from the trail cameras I have out there. While my fields are almost all bare, there are lots of areas on the northern side of tree lines, and lots of places out in the woods that still have 8-10" of snow. I had a few places where the quad was only going along at 2-3 mph because the snow was so deep. Then add in that there are lots of trees and branches down across the normal trails, and I had to either weave around them or just pop up over them. More than a few of the "back up and then hit it again" places too. The deer trails really stand out now, and there are trails worn down to bare earth in some areas.
