First shots from my little S&W 1890's Top Break revolver...

Post by fortyshooter » Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:17 pm

I was very impressed with how well it shot those Magtech 38 SW rounds! From about 15 feet I point aimed the 130 year old 5 shooter not really focusing on the thin front sight and tried to hold in same position on my man target. Pulled the DA trigger 5 times and was surprised to see a nice group of 4 in the neck area and one in chest location. Was very happy with the target result and then put it back in my chest holster I am still working on. Will be picking up the support strap that will go over my shoulder from the local leather shop tomorrow. Had the light weight leather belt from left overs I had and used an extra K frame holster I had. The revolver fits it fine and gives a nice smooth quick draw.

Had a friend with me down at the range and he liked it and the way it shot and offered me 200 bucks over what I paid for it. I said nope going to hold on to this one! Think ol' Doc would be proud of the shiny nickel plated 38 shooter!

Outstanding, both the shooting and the holster. But it’s on the wrong side.

Lefty Larry here for handguns! Actually I am left handed and that is the first choice for handgun use but can shoot well with the right hand too. And of course I shoot rifles the correct right handed way. Got all my bases covered! :D

that's not half bad.

What's the trigger pull on that revolver?
