357 Big Boy
357 Big Boy
Good day today shooting 2" groups at 50yds. using Berry's 158gr. hp target and 7 grains of HP-38. It is a very mild load in the Henry Big Boy.
Today the range let me shoot the steel targets as well.
I managed to put 5 out of 10 shots in the splotch of white spray paint at 50 yards, it seemed easier than paper targets.
It was a good day.

Re: 357 Big Boy
I have the 357 carbine, and even Miss Tina loves to shoot it. She was surprised at the low recoil. I added skinner sights and really improved the groups.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I scoped mine and it will keep up with any bolt rifle at 50 yards. Haven’t tried it at 100 but I plan to.

Sounds like a good day at the range. .357 rifles are a hoot.
Hatchdog, at 100 yards, you'll be surprised how accurate that ,357 will be.

I have Skinner Express on the rear and Andy’s Patridge on the front. It’s a fantastic combo on my carbine. Gives you a super long sight picture. If my .44 Mag carbine were as accurate, I’d be ecstatic. Maybe with the new 1:20 twist barrel it will be?BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 10:22 amI have the 357 carbine, and even Miss Tina loves to shoot it. She was surprised at the low recoil. Shot my .357 carbine sunday a local (free) indoor range courtesy of the state. Shot about 100 rounds( American Eagle, 158 grain). Shoulder is a tad sore but worth it. I love that rifle!
