First shots with the Pardner .410 single shot.....

Very nice day for some range time so here we go with my long awaited shots out of the Pardner 410 with 22 inch barrel and full choke which is fixed. Started out with a # 9 3 inch shell from 15 yards on a paper plate target and looked really good with bead on the orange dot.
Then followed up with 6 and 4 shot on same plate target with some good coverage on the 8 inch plate. The ejector really kicks out those spent shells about 10 ft. back....need to chrono the eject speed ! Trigger pull is really nice on this one and the gun is easy to get on target.

Had some clays setup on my swinging target stand and back at 15 yds no problem taking out each one with one shot without hitting the next clay.

These were built as low cost single shooters to be used in the field and tossed around in a truck and built very well. Everything was smooth acting and tight locking on this looked to be new 410 shooter. Best 280 bucks I spent on a gun that's not made any longer.

Love how it shoots to point of aim and very nice pattern. That's not always a given in a shotgun. Yeah, that was 280 bucks well spent. Congrats.

To right, have a friend who has the exact same 410, couldnt hit a thing with it. When we patterned it was shooting 12" high for him at 25y.

Yes, simply knowing where it shot a bit of a change in his sight picture and some compensation had him hitting more often than not.
Dont know anyone that would take a rifle into the field without sighting in or checking the zero but shotguns seem to be viewed different and most people just assume the center of the pattern will be where they point it.

A buddy was a big shotgunner and would tape a piece of thin wooden dowel of various lengths to the existing front sight and fire for effect. Didn't matter if it fell off during recoil, it was the sight picture before firing he needed. When he got the right pattern centered... he'd know which sight to weld on in place of the short one.
