Plinking for cash !

Post by fortyshooter » Sun May 07, 2023 8:42 pm

My son calls me this morning and tells me daughter Macie wants to go shooting the 22's. I say well heck yes and I will bring her favorite 22 pistol
and the Henry 22 LR Carbine Evil Roy.
So we get down there and get some targets setup and ready to go with plenty of 22 ammo including a bunch of 22 CB's for quiet shooting.

Macie takes a few target shots with the 22 Victory pistol to get warmed up and then on to the new challenge the 22 Henry Carbine. Now she shot my Co2 177 lever rifle well with it being a bit heavier than the Henry and figured she would do well with it. Didn't take but a few shots and she was hitting the steel like a pro even with her somewhat different hold on the carbine....held it with a slight twist.
Had my steel poker chip rack setup and when you hit one you see a dollar...today it was cents.... amount on reverse side when hit.
Well she rang up a total of one buck two times and of course the Bulls Eye Saloon had to fork it over! Macie don't fool around when money is on the line!!! :D :D
Also brought along the new 20 gage coach gun to let Chad try it out and he like it but Macie not quite ready for that yet.

Another thing to try was the new CCI Quiet 22 LR ammo for semi-auto use. It worked fine in the S&W Victory which surprised me since it can be picky with ammo. I would say it is at the threshold of being quiet enough to shoot without ear protection a bit louder than a CB or standard Quiet round.

Later down to the creek to let Macie plink on some can targets on other side of the bank. We all had a great time and Macie found a fun way to make a couple bucks!

Note... in the pic of my son levering the Henry you can see a 22 case being ejected...cool!

It’s always fun to spend $5 on ammo to win $1! I’m surprised the quiet would cycle a semi.

Good Job there, fortyhooter!!!

Good to see ya got the young uns shooting!!

And it amazes me how kids are all kinda similar. My son would do all kinds of things when incentivized with some $$$.

The semi auto Quiet is something new and I was surprised it would work. 20 rounds of it thru the Victory and no issues.
5 bucks to win 1...well the "house" sells the ammo so you know how that goes!

Macie a good little shooter!
