Special Guest at the Range
My son and I lucked into a couple of rifles. I ended up with a Stag AR M4. Nice carbine. A couple of months ago I’d got a nice little Burris scope at an auction. Get a cantilever mount and it’s a done deal. So - off to the range. As we’re gathering our stuff I asked the wife if she wanted to go. It was cold and damp out - so I figured “no way”. But she said “sure”. So off we go. Now she shoots on occasion but not much. After getting zeroed my son loaded five rounds in the magazine and asked her if she wanted to give it a go. Her first time with an AR and she ran it like she owned it. After her fifth shot she asked if that was all and I told her to get down over the rifle and shoot it and see. We were capturing it on video - and when she pulled the trigger we were stunned. The rifle went “click” and the muzzle didn’t move. Not even a hair. My son immediately said “hash tag no flinch.” She said “Dang - I was on the target too. I was gonna hit it. And she would have. Here’s her first ever five shots with an AR…

Yep I notice that too. Maybe we try too hard and new shooters are more relaxed and just glad to hit something ? Good shooting too!
