Re: Range weather for the week....
I hear you forty. It's hotter than heck around here. Be pushing 108-110 for the next week! No shooting for now.

Yes sir Forty, MHH is setting in. I got my lawn mowed today to get that chore out of the way before it really get's bad. I still plan to head out to the range tomorrow and test my new 38 Spl. load.

I typically go in the evenings, which is what I did yesterday. Yes, it was hot during the day. But, cooled off some that evening. I wanted to check the zero of a scope. Shots were inconsistent, from outing to outing. Found rings and mount to base loose. I thought they were tight. Will try again and check after shooting. I suspect they should not loosing too much after shooting? It is a factory scope set on a Marlin 336W. From what I understand, the rings used are not bad. But, some do complain about the scope. I have no complaints. Yet, time will tell.
Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).

If you don’t have one already look into a Wheeler’s FAT Wrench. It’s a torque wrench in inch pounds specifically for scope mounts and other firearm fasteners. Not too expensive and it works great.GFK wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 7:05 amI typically go in the evenings, which is what I did yesterday. Yes, it was hot during the day.
