Range weather for the week....

Starting today MHH....as in very Muggy Humid and Hot. No rain in the forecast but not to comforting to shoot for very long and no water under the bridge. Got some shooting I want to do!

I hear you forty. It's hotter than heck around here. Be pushing 108-110 for the next week! No shooting for now.

Yes sir Forty, MHH is setting in. I got my lawn mowed today to get that chore out of the way before it really get's bad. I still plan to head out to the range tomorrow and test my new 38 Spl. load.

I typically go in the evenings, which is what I did yesterday. Yes, it was hot during the day. But, cooled off some that evening. I wanted to check the zero of a scope. Shots were inconsistent, from outing to outing. Found rings and mount to base loose. I thought they were tight. Will try again and check after shooting. I suspect they should not loosing too much after shooting? It is a factory scope set on a Marlin 336W. From what I understand, the rings used are not bad. But, some do complain about the scope. I have no complaints. Yet, time will tell.

If you don’t have one already look into a Wheeler’s FAT Wrench. It’s a torque wrench in inch pounds specifically for scope mounts and other firearm fasteners. Not too expensive and it works great.
