Bern a while

Post by T56Impala » Sat May 15, 2021 3:09 pm

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been to the Range. I lost my wife to metastatic breast cancer on April 23. She fought hard for 5 years.

Today was the first day I really felt like doing much I haven’t been forced to do in several weeks. It was good to think about something different for a change.

.45LC “X”
Indoors
25 yards
230gr JFN
16 shots
1” grouping with 15 shots. First shot was a bit high (3”). A few clicks on the scope the next 15 we’re all connected. Blew the center out of the target.

45-70
Indoors
25 yards
405gr cast lead flat nose
5 shots
6” group
I think the scope is crap on this one. Cheap eBay find for testing. I have another one I’m planning to mount once my shoulder heals!! Seriously, I really enjoy shooting that caliber. The wow factor at the Range is always fun. I just need to get better with it.

Not sure I’m going to take the hog hunting trip in June I had planned. Just too much going on around here right now. Obviously my wife, then my daughters graduation and our island home is almost done and will need to decorating and furnishings.

More Range reports as time allows. Stay safe everyone.

Hey Impala. Sorry you have lost a beloved wife. No idea how that is. Know she is at peace.

Glad you got out to shoot. There is a calming effect that we all recognize. Good luck.

So sorry for your loss. Cancer is a terrible disease that someday modern medicine will concur. Glad you can start to get your life back on track.

Glad you got out. I hope to get out soon. But, things have not worked out that way. Life has a way of taking turns other than what I may like. However, I think that daylight is on the horizon.

Sorry for your loss. Some others here have been through what you are going through now. Life can be very tough at times. Thinking of you and your daughter.

So sorry for your loss. Sadly I watched my cousin who is also a good friend go through a similar tragedy with his wife. He did as you and when he felt up to it he starting joining us again for some golf and did some fishing with his neighbor. The very best to you....

Range time is always happy time even when chasing an inferior scope or other piece of equipment. Sometimes the fun is in the challenge and other times the challenge is just frustrating.

A very empty feeling. I lost my first wife at the young age of 24. Sorry for your loss and I wish you well.
