You guys were having a ball out there! Fun and good shooting. forty, your chrony read-outs mirror mine with the 180/357 load from the Henry. Good velocity for a coated cast bullet and accurate as heck. Like Al said, I 'm staying with that one. Looks like Tues or Wed for my range day.

Y'all chrony these from 16 or 20 inch barrels?
Just curious as the Rossi is a :o a 24" one.

20 inch Henry here! Now sometimes with pistol caliber rifles you might reach a point in barrel length where you level out in bullet speed,depending on powder of course.

No expert here, but My personal thought was that a 16" barrel should be optimal barrel length.
But after some of the long distance shooters can use one to reach steel targets up to 600+yds. not so much.
But I'm sure it has a lot do with powders.
