Range Day: new targets for peeps

Post by Sir Henry » Tue May 31, 2016 6:29 pm

I got back to the range today and shot the iron sighted Henry at both 25 and 50 yards. My new targets worked great at 25 yards and I could see the detail of the crosshair in the peep. But at 50 yards it was just a yellow field as everything blended.

Here is my setup at 25 yards.

The top three targets were shot with the top rifle and the bottom two with the scoped rifle. All are 10 shot benchrest groups at 25 yards. If you notice the bottom right it has one big hole and two flyers. That one hole is eight shots and was .192". But ended up at .662" with the two flyers. The top left target was .509" so the peep got the best score.

impressive groups with both rifles .... I've seen high dollar target rifles that can't do much, if any, better

"Impressive groups" - "great shooting" - and "wow!"
Yup, looks like these three fellows said it all, SH. ;)

And as usual, that coffee cup is a great addition to the shooting bench.

Really like the look of that bottom rifle with the scope and the big loop.

Nice shooting!

Nice looking range and great shooting. I like the design of the market. That would work very well for me in the indoor range I use.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday. ;)

If it were small game - it would be headed for the fry pan.

Thanks. My problem is finding a shooting bench within 50 yards of small game.
