.
They hold up better taped to steel too. The Birchwood Casey taped to steel get shredded to oblivion with the first shot impact.

Nice as always.
Targets? At the peak of competition, my bulk practice targets were 8" cheapo Sam's Club paper plates, stapled to cardboard.
Stick a repair center in the middle, go around it with a fat tip black marker, and it's ready.
(A lesson learned the hard way...) The smack of the bullets would often pop the black dot off, but you'd still have the thick black center circle.
I bought them in bulk packs of fifty or a hundred...
Too thin to eat off of without one of those special trays, but perfect targets.
(Also great practice for plates...)

NCG, great thread and thanks again for the background on these pistols. I've actually been looking to get one of these (Exemplar) for awhile now. The first I saw one was at a gunshow. Passed on it then because it was the first I ever saw one and I wasn't even sure what it was. The guy selling it had a hard time even coming up with the name of it. Looking back at it it would have been better to get that one. Anyway for the last 2 weeks or so I've been keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for the auction to end. The one I'm getting looks to be in great condition and I hope to have it soon.

I picked up this Exemplar at an estate auction that had it listed as "German target pistol". Thought, naw, no way that could be an Exemplar, but went, anyway. Sure enough, mint Exemplar and when it came up for the bid, the auctioneer couldn't pronounce Anschutz. Paid $420, complete with the Anschutz holster for it. Yeah, definitely one of my best ever buys. Best of luck on your auction. Hope you can grab one. Really unlike any other 22 out there.

Yeah, sounds like you got a great deal. Not sure how long ago that was but sounds like you still did real well. The auction did end shortly before I replied and I did win. Your threads were just a friendly reminder that I still needed to work on getting one.
So thank you,
Dan

That's great, Dan. Congrats. You're going to love that two stage ultralight trigger pull, factory set at 8 ounces.
