Hello from northeast Iowa. Picked up my first Henry wednesday after work, a ss 44mag steel. Have to say very impressed with the wood. Heading out to shoot it now. Thinking 45-70 and 223 are next. Bye the way I shoot hunt fish trap cut wood and spend as much time as possible with grandsons as possible for hobbies.

welcome indeed .... delighted to have you join our forum .... THANKS for taking the time to add your Henry to our community's total .... kudos for spending as much time as possible with your grandkids building memories that will last for a lifetime .... our Henry 44 Mag has quickly become one of our favorites, its one heck of a rifle .... you mentioned a 45-70, ours is most certainly in a class by itself ..

Welcome from the Northland of the Show-Me-State, Ozark.
As you noted, Henrys do come with quite impressive wood furniture. One of my favorite parts.
Sometime when you get settled in with your new rifles, it would be interesting to me to hear some about your trapping experiences. E.g. do you trap on your own property? Trap(s) used? "Target" game? And so on. I've never got to do that and it sounds like an interesting other hobby. Don't know how many trappers are on our Forum.
Enjoy those special times with the grandsons.

Thanks for the welcome. It was snowing yesterday so I didn't set up a shooting bench. Got it sighted close at 50 yards leaning over tractor tire lol.Looks to be decent tomorrow so will do it for real. I always trapped 3-500 coon a year for 10 years straight. Just do a little coyote trapping now. Also bought oldest grandson (8 years old) a rossi 410-22 2 barrel combo to start him on. That was fun.
