New guy from NorCal

Hello everybody,
I'm a first-time Henry owner from Northern California – I acquired a brand new Big Boy in .357 about a month ago. I'm absolutely in love with the gun! I've wanted one since 1985, when Danny Glover said in "Silverado": Have you ever seen what a Henry rifle can do in the hands of a man who knows how to use it?
I'm pretty much an all-around firearms enthusiast. My main passion is hunting upland birds with my three dogs and I also do a lot of trapshooting.
Glad to see there are so many baseball fans here, as I've been in love with that game since age 4 (I'm 52 now).
I look forward to interacting with everybody here.

Welcome from the Show-Me-State!
What model .357 Big Boy do you have?
The Henry .357s are all great rifles! I've had mine about four years now, and think it's a great caliber to shoot.
Also wanted to ask what do you use to shoot trap?
I would sure like to try shooting clays someday. Will have to again look at the difference in the two sports.
Finally, there is a thread for everyone to list their favorite pets...so your pooches will fit right in, too!

Thanks for the welcome, everybody.
As for the questions I was asked:
My Henry is the H006M.
I shoot trap with several different guns, but my go-to is a Tristar TT-15 O/U. It's a newer entry into the market with a lot of the features of some high-end dedicated trap guns. It's not the same quality as a Perazzi or Kreighoff, but it retails for 20 percent (or in some cases considerably less) of their price.
I'll definitely be posting some dog photos soon.

have to admit I'd never heard of an Tristar TT-15; much less a Perazzi or Kreigoff ..

... had to call on Google to take a look at them .... they are apparently fine shotguns .... thanks for the motivation to expand my knowledge in this area ..

.. I have a older version of Ruger's Red Label 12 ga O/U that shoots like a dream and I do lover to shoot trap/skeet/sporting clays .... I've really tried to like shooting an O/U but when I go to the vault to pick up a shotgun I inevitably take out a 30 some year old Remington 11-87 Premier .... looking forward to seeing your pictures

Howdy from Alberta! I've had my Big Boy 45 Colt for about a month too. They are great rifles!

Thanks for your answers/comments.
I'm familiar with both Kreighoff and Perazzi shotguns, but the Tristar company was new to me. I looked at your TT-15 model, and immediately noticed one of the features you said it shared with, for instance, a Perazzi. That's the raised target rib with various adjustment points. Your Tristar looks quite similar to some of the much more expensive Perazzi models I've seen.
Which Tristar model do you have? They listed on their web site the Top Single, Unsingle, Double Trap and Combo (Unsingle and Double Trap barrels). And I'm guessing you have the 12-gauge, correct?
Down-the-road, maybe I'll create a thread in the "Other Firearms" forum to chat further on shotguns. There is a sub-forum there for s/g. I know we're primarily a Forum group that focuses on Henrys, and I really enjoy the two Henry rifles I have. BTW, I have an identical Big Boy to your H006M. But I also like shooting a s/g, and my hope is to shoot clays some day.

I have the over/under, or what they're referring to here as the Double Trap. It's a 12-gauge.
