Henry Rifle Forums

Hello,
My name is Jan (that is a boys name in the Netherlands) and I own a Henry 'small game' rifle in 22lr and I enjoy shooting it.
I wanted a Henry lever action for a long time but could not find an importer in the netherlands but now there is one, so I ordered my Henry at the end of last year.

I am a member (and board member) of a local shooting club and every Monday afternoon, I am at the shooting range, practising for competitions. I attend several dynamic competitions with my other rifles and a pistol and I am also a member of the 'Winchester Lever Action Shooters Society Holland', a club for lever action riffle shooters only (not just Winchester) and shoot competitions with that club. I hope to buy a .357 Henry some day but until then I enjoy the .22lr.

Hey Jan! Glad you joined us. Obviously, you are already a shooter.

I have the Henry BBS in 357. I highly recommend it. It is an easy and effective rifle.

Welcome to the forum family. Many years ago, (1980s), I met a young Dutch Marine during a joint services operation and we stayed in touch by mail over the years. We were always going to get together again someday. A couple years ago, he brought his two sons, 18 and 20, and came go visit for two weeks. They stayed here at our home, and we took them to the Smithsonian in DC, Virginia Beach, The National Museum of The Marine Corps, and Kayak Fishing... We had a great time.

But I think what they enjoyed the most was shooting on my range here on the farm. We shot a 12 gauge shotgun, an AR15 .223, a Smith and Wesson .38, and a Sig P220 .45. I polished up a dozen of the 45 and 223 cases drilled a hole across the base, then seated new bullets. We added split rings and the boys had key rings to share with their mates back home, made from cases they had actually fired. They had pictures and video to prove it.

Their dad says they still talk about it.

Next month I will attend my first shooting competition with my Henry. Yesterday, I got my new Henry t-shirt in the mail so I can go in style
The coming time, I will explore this forum to learn more about Henry rifles.

That is a nice area. When I was (a lot) younger, I used to go there on vacation with my parents.

Welcome From southwestern Michigan. Shot my SGC in 22 lr for the first time last weekend, found it to be very accurate. Hope you enjoy yours as well.
