Hi...eager to learn what I can about Henry rifles here
Just got a Henry!

I'm not new to guns but just got my first Henry. A little youth .22 lever action. I think it will be a hoot to squirrel hunt with. Won't get my hands on it till Tuesday. Any thing that people do to their Henry Guns much to tweak them? I've got a little Marlin that I changed the lever, the trigger, the loading gate, the sights....made it the way I wanted it. Anything in particular that Henry owners seem to like to do to their guns, or are they pretty much good to go other than little things that come down to personal preference. I'm thinking of putting a small scope on mine. Any tips on scopes or rings that work good on these little .22s??? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum from Kansas CIty! You'll find lots of advice here, some of it already on the different threads.
As to your Youth 22LR (and many Henrys), one of the first thing new owners do is assess the factory sight situation. The Youth looks to have a modified buckhorn and a hooded front sight, and that may suit you and your needs (and your eyes) very well. Others swear by Skinner Peep Sights and Skinner makes one for a grooved 22 like yours:

I've not been here for long, but I've got four Henrys in the stable and I have to say that, beyond sights/scopes, I haven't found much need to modify anything. Henrys are known for smooth lever actions, the triggers are usually great right out of the box and the fit and finish is usually top notch. It's not a "project gun," in other words, at least for the vast majority of owners you'll find here.
Keep us posted on your first impressions, and just keep asking questions!
Congrats on your first one. Probably won't be your last....

Got my hands on it and am thrilled with the out of the box quality! Action is silly smooth. Love the feel of the trigger.. ran a bore snake through several times today and hope to get to shoot it tomorrow. I've never been a big buckhorn sights fan...may go to a peep sight or small scope eventually...but it fits me well and I think I have found my new favorite squirrel gun.

Let us know how it goes with the shoot. I’m loving the Skinner peeps on my Henrys, but if I get another .22 I’ll probably scope it for small game.
