Another FNG from up in Canada eh

I'm new to Henry's but not new to firearms. My Big Boy in 44 mag will delivered in a couple days and I am looking forward to putting rounds down range. I have a Marlin 1895 SBL, which has a very smooth action, and I am waiting to see if the Henry action is as smooth. Will be checking out the reloading section and see what works for others.

I think you will find the action on the Henry is as smooth as a Marlin. Welcome from Colorado . Once you receive your Henry please visit our running total thread How Many and add it to our totals. Thanks Al

welcome indeed, happy to have you join us .... we have a large number of members who own and fire Henry 44 Mags, us included ..... my oooooops .... actually, when I typed that I was still thinking about a different thread where he had mentioned the How Many ? thread .... as a result, I had one of those moments when my mind wasn't on the right track .... now days that seems to happen more and more often ..
.. to me its really nice to see others referring new folks to it .... at the rate we are going crossing the 1,000 mark isn't too many months away

Welcome from the Shenandoah Valley. I bet you will find that your Henry 44Mag will feel and operate a lot like your Marlin 1895SBL - they both have almost identical actions. I'll also bet that your Henry will have a better fit and finish. Congrats on a couple of great rifles.

Well the post lady dropped of my new to me Henry. According to the previous owner, he only shot a box of 44 specials out of it and it shows. The fit and finish are excellent.
The action is smoother than my Marlin

Hurrah for another smooth-action Henry out in the field!
BTW, in your intro posts, I forget to say "thanks for your military service."
There are quite a few members on our Forum, who are veterans.
I'm sure you'll have some chats at times.

Welcome to the forum. I hope that you find your Big Boy in .44 as much fun as I do! I have been shooting only my own hand loads thru it which are fairly lightly loaded but very accurate. If you are looking for lighter loads with 200 to 240 gr bullets and velocities from under 800 fps to a bit over 1200, I can let you know what has worked for me.
