Hi fellows. I thought I'd put this up before commenting on any other threads. I'm a retired electrical/automation mechanic and builder.
I have two Henrys, a .22mag and a .44 BBS carbine I just bought the other day.
I put a 4 power scope on the .22 due to my crappy vision but have decided not to on the .44. I may opt for a dovetail mounted rear sight that doesn't extend to the rear, this would keep both sights in better focus with my extreme far sightedness.
I got one of those brass stacker slings with the bandolier shoulder pad, it's pricey but very nice looking.

I took the carbine out to an indoor range the other day. The range was awful, the rest was way too low, the officer was always interfering and re-teaching me the same things over and over, by the time I started shooting the .44 my time was about up.
I like the short barrel and the action, as fas as accuracy I have no idea. They were all on the paper but the low light and uncomfortable scrunch I had to do to shoot made it a pain. I'll know more after the next outing (whenever that may be).
The .44 mags were Remington 180 grn jacketed soft noses, it had a nice kick. Not unpleasant but it felt like a real rifle.
I'd say it kicks about like a 20 ga with low brass birdshot.
Well, gotta go, nice to be here, I'll learn a lot from ya'll if I can shut up long enough!

The difference the particular range can have on your experience can be everything.

An over the top range officer, or trying to shoot a .22 with .45-70s going off 18 inches on either side of you

My favorite is in the middle of the Ocala forest. There is no official presence. I get there early, and leave early; about the time the crowd arrives.

Amazing how many people arrive after 0900, the wind at that point kicking up

There is a nice outdoor range I can use but it is a 40 minute drive. I'll get out there sometime to do some relaxed, fun shooting.
