New from Central Texas
Just ordered a BBS 357 carbine. I had a Savage 99 in 308 in the late 70's, long gone now. So this will be my first handgun caliber lever gun. I shot a friends Rossi 357 at an indoor range and really liked it. Looking forward to learning the jargon and acronyms for Henry and lever guns. At 64, I'm iffy on iron sights and ordered a scope base. As an avid reloader, this rifle should be fun!

Welcome from the Show-Me-State! You've joined a Forum that has a lot of happy owners of Big Boy Henrys in .357 Magnum (just as you read in the first post sent back to you!). Whenever you have the time and inclination, use the search function to find many previous Big Boy chats. Enjoy that new carbine!

Howdy from another BBS 357 carbine owner in Nebraska! You are going to enjoy that rifle.
Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: New from Central Texas
My rifle arrives Monday, 4473 may add a few days. I'll likely first try it with the factory irons at an indoor range at 25 yards. I will report back with impressions and results. Irons and somewhat dim lighting will not get the best groups, but I can get an idea if it's really good or bad.

Re: New from Central Texas
Welcome to the forum. I have a Big Boy Carbine, and love it... and it shoots. I did put Skinner Peep Sights on mine, but then my eyes are old and worn out from age.. a lifetime of reading, shooting, and tying flies...
This is 25 yards... I forgot how many rounds. I have had 22 surgeries, and the last five really affected my memory.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
