Hello all, Thought I'd drop in and see what's going on here. Looks like a good site.

I've got a couple of the rimfire model Henry's. I've had a H001 rifle for several years now, that my son in law had given me as a gift... and it's by far my favorite rifle.
Recently bought a used carbine length, large loop lever, and really like it, but not the sights. I've ordered a set (front & rear) that are like the ones on my rifle. Also a metal barrel band to replace the plastic one.

Having one of the H001s is just being part of the HRA family --- it's the great iconic rimfire of their production history.
Tell us more about the used carbine -- model, caliber, what sights are on it now, what you're going to install. Curious about it's age, too, because I thought all the newer rifles have all metal parts. It must be a very early-on carbine.

PT7, I don't know how old the carbine is, but yea, I knew it was an older rifle. It was made in Brooklyn NY.
The FS is a red fiber optic, and the rear has an adjustable shim for elevation in the notch, with a white diamond under it. I've ordered a front & rear set from HRA that's like the set on my other rifle.

The paint on the receiver is easily scratched with finger nail, so I'll be stripping and refinishing it with something else.

It sure does shoot good, though.

If interested, you can contact Henry and they should be able to give you the production date of your NJ rifle. All they will need is built in Bayonne, and the serial number. I've got several Henry rifle "birthdates" from them already.

So you have a rear buckhorn sight. Lots of folk go to some type of peep sight system, or scopes......lots of options out there. On your receiver paint as well as your sights, folk here would like to see "before & after" photos of your project. We all like to cheer a person along during his/her project.

Agreed. No matter how a Henry looks after it ages a little, that continue to be shooters!!

Welcome from Wisconsin. Actually IMR, it's no fun here at all at this forum. Everyone sits around and talks about Henry rifles. Oh, amd other guns, too.
