Thanks for letting me join!

I've already emailed a buddy from another Forum to get him to join.
I own or have owned 4 Henry rifles. H001 (gave it NIB to my 9 year old Nephew for Christmas a few years back). A .357 Brass Big Boy that I cherish. A steel 30-30 with nice wood that I STOLE off GB a few years ago for something like $425 and lastly an H001T that I have never shot all that much since I bought it because the price of .22 LR has just been STUPID HIGH for years now. I'm so damned old that I remember when a box of 50 rounds cost $0.50.
I've been out of gun buying for a while but I've got the "itch" again. I'm getting closer to retirement and I want to get a couple more rifles that are JUST PLAIN FUN! And for me and rifles that means leverguns.
I recently noticed that HRA now offers their Big Boy rifles in .41 magnum and I have that "need". I know that sounds weird (especially since I already have a .357) but I like oddball cartridges (favorite shotgun gauge is 16) and I just plain want a .41 magnum levergun. Probably comes from reading too many Elmer Keith books as a kid.

No such thing as reading too many Elmer Keith books!
I've seen a few of them on GB in steel receiver but none in brass. Does anyone own one in brass or have even seen one? I see from the HRA website that they are supposed to start delivering this month. Any news?
Last thought....My thanks to the fella over on the Henry sub-forum on RFC who told me about this place.

Welcome to the forum. We have several people here that are also on RFC. I can remember the day when I was a ten year old kid and walked into a store and bought a brick for $5.

I suspect a lot of us Henry fans do. .22 LR isn't all that much less expensive now than reloading your own .357.

Welcome from the Show-Me-State. Nice Buck harvest picture you posted. Yup, the .357 Magnum Big Boy is a great rifle, as is the .30-30. I've had both models.
Have seen your moniker, 2fewdaysafield, from time-to-time on the RFC. Oh yes, in your wanderings on the Forum, you should bump into some folk from CT....keep your eyes peeled and you may find a neighbor here!

Thanks PT7! Yeah I've been around a few gun forums. Mostly SGW and RFC but I have visited many of the others. Was even fairly active on an earlier HRA Forum that never did really seem to quite get off the ground.

GREAT to see this one so active.

Judging by your service dates you have a few years and some on me. Thank you for your service then. It was a very damned tough time to be in the military. I have a great deal of admiration and respect for folks that served in that era. I was in during the "safe '80s".

Thanks Al! Nice to "meet" another guy with a soft spot for the .41 mag! My fondness for the load is no different than a young teen's fondness for the first hot blond he meets...Wanted one since I first read about it in Elmer Keith books and now I'm going to finally get one! If you reload the .41 mag I hope you'll share some thoughts and recipes with me.

Welcome, I have mostly shot handguns, and LE type long guns, but a friend on my woodworking forum posted a thread about his Henry, and I was hooked. Here in Va 22 ammo is coming down in price and becoming readily available again. Good news for us. The wife actually uses it here on the little farm.

Ahhhhh....from Va. Lived there for 22 years then made a wrong turn on 95 and have been stuck behind enemy lines ever since. Retiring in a few years and as soon as that is official I'll be back below the Mason-Dixon as fast as my car can go!
