Just bought a Henry
Hi from the Old Dominion
My Big Boy just arrived today at my lgs. I am awaiting another gun I had out for some trigger work, and it is being shipped back today .. so when it arrives I'll head into town and pick up both. I am a long time member of several other gun forums -- Ruger, S&W, Sig Talk, and RimfireCentral.
I am 74 years old in March. Besides guns, I race sailboats, and ride my GoldWing mc. I CC and am an avid proponent of home defense.
I purchased the .45LC Big Boy. As I am not a cowboy or a hunter, this is the first and only rifle that I really do not "need", except to satisfy my selfish desire to have fun in my older age. Besides, I have always wanted one, and that is the best reason of all. Along with my .22 Buckmark Hunter, I will take great pleasure in going to the range for the heck of it.
Now I am off to the forums to begin asking some questions. You'll find me quite active as I am not afraid to learn.

Welcome from the north woods of Wisconsin. Hey, Sloop, one of the things we've enjoyed most about our retirement is the way we get to spoil ourselves, now, with our guns and shooting those guns at the range for the "heck" of it. With us, that a lot of heck of it.

Congratulations on your new Henry, Sloop. You're a man after my own heart. I can't think of a better reason to buy a new gun either.

What a gift to the world is Brian Wilson! I'm a forever fan. Thanks for sharing this recent version of a great traditional song by two of the original Beach Boys.

Nothin wrong with the old country I listen to it a lot. This new country aint country at all imho. But even cowboys like a little bit of rock n roll. At least that's what Chris LeDoux said. Al
