New to the forum but belong to may others like Marlinowners, RFC and the Ruger forum. I take part in a lot of Cowboy Action Shooting. I just traded for a Henry 357 mare’s leg side gate and would like to learn more about slicking up the action and lever safety springs. I have been finding that it jams loading through the side after a couple rounds so think I may just load through the tube. Other than that it seems pretty reliable even cycling 38 SWC loads.
Are there some stickies or sections on here I should be looking at? Is this a fairly active forum?

Welcome to the forum Ian. Nice Mare's Leg. Sorry I can't personally help with your jamming issue but I'm sure some others will chime in.
This IS an active forum and most of the regulars check in daily.

Thanks for the welcome! Most other forums don’t seem to have many positive things to say about henry so looking forward to some fresh info. I am not too concerned about the jamming to load as its quite new. I am looking forward to breaking it in. I am having a lot fo fun with it and plan to work it into some cowboy stages.

Welcome to the forum. I pretty much have only some Big Boy Steels but so far I’m 100% reliable and very accurate with them. Enjoy your Mare’s Leg.

Welcome Ian. I’m from BC. Roddy is another member here from Ont, and Vaquero here is on Marlin Owners as Pereira. I think a few more of us here are active on MO as well. This is a great forum and group of people here. Tons of knowledge, and zero tolerance for BS.
