New Member Saying Hello

Hello All
Unlike so many of you, I have only one Henry rifle, a single shot in .30-30 Win. I have grown to like it so much, I anticipate buying a second single shot in .223 Rem. At such time that my meager wallet allows the purchase.
Something about the simplicity of the design and the quality of the construction struck a chord with me.
In any event, hello again.

Welcome from Eastern Washington State. I’m thinking that if one were to have only one Henry rifle yours is the one to have. Good job.

Thank you. For some reason, I am taken with them.
Possibly more than one soon.

Welcome from Michigan. I have been eyeing the .223 single shot as well. Watch out for this group of enablers, they will have you eyeing several more. Not that it is a bad thing to have more Henrys.

Welcome, and Hello, I myself only have 3, but if Henry makes a SS in the new Buckhammer. Rumor is that they are....
I just may try one.
Do you shoot factory ammo, or do you reload?

For .30-30 Win., I do both.
I've had good luck with the Henry single shot as well as a pre-cross bar safety Glenfield 30A using W748 with Winchester cases, Winchester Silver-Tip 150 gr. bullets and Winchester primers. Unfortunately, my supply of the old Silver Tip bullets is starting to get low.
As far as factory ammo, both it and the Glenfield seem satisfied with Federal Power Shok 150 gr bullets. Not premium ammo but still, quality ammo.

Welcome to the forum from the Garden State of New Jersey. You never know...you may tempt some of us "repeating arms" guys to seriously investigate the single shot side of the family. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families.

Welcome to the family. Jump right in and feel free to post, share, ask questions. It truly is a family. Some might pick on you a little but it's all in good fun. Unlike some forums, we don't allow it in any other way... You know, just like a family. Post about anything and everything, within the rules, that is.
Guns, cars, shooting, fishing, your dog.... and Pics, we like pictures.
I know I do...
Welcome from Oklahoma.

Nice, for factory ammo I like Federal's blue box stuff, both their 150 & 170 gr group really well in the couple of 30-30s I've tried them in.
I also load my own, having had good results out of the Sierra and Speer pills.
Have loads with 3031 W748 and also BL-C 2.

Welcome from So-Cal. 30-30's are a fun rifle to have. I also load with 748, it's a good powder for the 30-30, along with 3031.

I have used only W748 in .30-30 reloads. I speculate there may be better powder but I won't change my ways. I won't let progress interfere with my habits.
I have used Hoppe's #9 bore solvent and Hoppe's #9 gun oil for probably 60 years. I must admit I have heard there are other bore solvents and gun oils on the market now but I don't believe it. Russian propaganda.

LOL! I do believe you're going to fit right in here. Epic.
