South Carolina Incoming!
New to this forum, but first begin shooting in the late '50's, and still one of my primary interests and hobbies. 30 year army career, a year in the Bush in Vietnam with MACV, V Corps, (Delta), then an A Team Commander out of Bragg, NC, and used GI Bill to become physician, later Chief of Professional Services, EVAC hospital 300 miles out in in the SA desert. Now retired, living in Lexington SC, where I continue my enthusiasm for reloading (13 diff Calibers) for vintage military and civilian forearms. Shoot Steel Challenge and IDPA, and try to shoot locally at least 3-4 times a week. Just bought first Henry, 357 lever, and will post about that in a different thread. Wish all of you the very best...

Re: South Carolina Incoming!
JEbar, I read Nick Rowe's book "Five Years to Freedom" when it was first published, in '68, when I was a year away from graduating from Nebraska's ROTC as a 2nd Lt, and thought about it a lot. As luck would have it, when I was posted deep in the Delta, alongside the U Minh forest, as an Infantry Captiain, where Nick was held along with Rocky Versace and another captured soldier, one of my two Vietnamese interpreters was on the helicopter that swooped in and picked Nick Rowe. Son, his name, told me when they picked up Rowe, that Rowe was unable to speak.
He couldn't even talk...
Here is a pic of Son, a perfectly fluent solder in the Vietnamese Army. My other interpreter, Kahn, later stepped on a mine and blew off his legs. Son is off to see one of his many girlfriends; Son had girlfriends in every village we visited. Pentax, 55mm, Kodachrome 25
