Hello From East Central Florida
Hello,
Happy New Year from the free state of Florida! Thank you for the opportunity to join. I recently purchased a Henry X model in 45 Colt to compliment my Ruger NM. It has been a rugged, handy rifle. It has no issues handling Paco’s heavy hunting loads; one of them I intend to use for hogs and deer season next year. The threaded barrel put me over the fence and lately have been searching for a subsonic load for night time work. I have been glancing through this site and it’s chock full of useful information. I hope I can return the favor. Thanks

Re: Hello From East Central Florida
Welcome.
Where in E central Florida? I grew up in Holly Hill (Daytona). Of course, I'm old enough to have hunted the giant ground sloth whose bones grace the Museum of Arts and Sciences in Daytona. A Henry would have made life easier, as opposed to atlatls with stone spear points.
I graduated from Mainland High School in 72 and moved on to greener pastures. I was surprised to see how many folks at my 20 year reunion were no longer living in Florida.

I’m in Cocoa; about an hour south of Holly Hill, twenty minutes from the Space Center. Lived here 50 years…Nice area Holly Hill.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Welcome to the Henry Family. As I always tell folks, it's a family, so jump right in, post, share anecdotes, ask questions, post pictures. We like pictures. (I like pictures) Guns, dogs, trucks, fish, whatever... but like family, we'll rag on you ... but all in good fun. You know, "You call that a fish, back home we call THAT bait!"
I pulled up Cocoa on the map. See, I grew up all over Florida... Relatives in Gainesville, Tampa, Pensacola.... then I realized... not the East Coast.
I lived in the Keys, Everglades, Forgotten Coast, Tampa, Gainesville, towns so small the school only had two classrooms. (K-6th and 7th - 12th.)
I loved Florida back then, there were rural areas and peaceful. What a childhood. Then my mother pulled up stakes and moved to Virginia.
Now we are in Oklahoma. If you want to know something about a location, even worldwide, there may be someone here who has firsthand knowledge. Welcome to the family....

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
