Hello All,

I don't own a Henry at the moment, but I have been on the search awhile. I have decided that I want the H012GMRCC Big Boy Color Case Hardened Side Gate .357 carbine. Just haven't found one in stock to get.

I am a Army vet, 83-2004, and currently working in my second career. I generally hunt black powder for central IL deer, but now with the new law with select rifles and calibers I can now justify that new firearm.

I have lurked the site awhile and decided to join. There is some great info here.

Hello and welcome from central W TN.
A 357 hum... is that enough gun for those central IL deer?
I have taken a decent deer here with a 357 myself, just thinking those up there are a bit larger than ours.
But hey, it is a Very fun round out of a rifle. ;)

Hey trooper. Welcome from neb. Great choice on your rifle! I shoot the steel 357 carbine. Wish the CC option was available way back when. You will love that Henry. Good l

Welcome to the forum. I ordered that same model CCH 357 as soon as the side gate came available. It seemed to be a very popular gun as it took 11 months to get one and that was with help from Henry. Hopefully there is better availability now. Great gun, I think you will like it.

Thank you for the welcome.

The .357 for Central Il deer is enough, I am not in Pike County with the monsters, I have the corn-fed deer that live in the suburbs and the County. Not as big, but those does sure are tasty.

I have shot a few Henry's, loved how they felt and how natural they pointed. I think my search will take awhile, I have a notify me when stock ar several places. I travel for work, so I am also checking different lgs wherever I go. Been a fun search, found a few other rifles and pistols I just had to have :)

In my latest purchase attempts the 'Notify Me' got to me too late. I finally set up some webpage product bookmarks and made it a habit to check them daily as part of my daily internet news routine. Eventually I got lucky, it did take months, made the purchase. The 'Notify Me' came two days later. At that point just for grins I went ahead checked to see if it was still available. Nope - No Stock.

Welcome to the family. We may pick on you a bit, once we get to know you. If we like you, you know, like family. But all in fun. Jump right in, ask questions, share anecdotes, and pics, we love pics. Your rifles, pistols, truck, boat, fish. You get the idea. Pics. Dave? He likes tractors.

I have been checking that too. My FFL at home is also trying to do an order as well.

Sold my boat this year, been way too busy at work and not home long enough for it. I have one of those jobs that covid made me busier. Sold it to a young guy who was looking for his first boat. Mirro Craft 14ft tin boat. Good starter for him.

I had a recruit in the academy, paratrooper with the 82nd. He said he had 92 "Official" jumps in his career, including all his training jumps, but 132 including unofficial jumpd with foreign units and off book. I told him if he jumped from the aircraft and lived, I'd count it. "One Thirty Two," he said.

He was Five foot six.

"A hundred thirty two?" I shook my head. "Did you start out at six foot four?"

* * Those were all full equipment military jumps... The total didn't include his two hundred plus sport jumps.
