New Henry owner…if everything goes well…

Hi to all from The Sunshine State!
Little background,.
I like to shoot and used to hunt quite a lot.
Like many others, had rifles come and go but always had one or two in 45-70.
Never owned a Henry before although, of course, I know it’s history and trajectory.
My last 45-70 was a Marlin 1895 which I owned for 21 years and sold it for no reason other than to get something different. Flawless rifle. That was 2 years ago.
Fast forward to the present. And, surprise, there are no rifles anywhere to buy for a reasonable amount of money.
So, per chance, I recently found a Henry 45-70 color case, no load gate, in supposedly nearly new condition.
I should receive it in a week or so and the sale is conditioned on my approval after inspection.
I confess that I have serious misgivings about the lack of loading gate and the tube loading method of this rifle. Of course this is mostly due to my lack of experience with these rifles.
It does not help that I have read extensively about instances of problems with the loading tube thing.
So, I have sent 3 different inquiries to Henry ahead of getting the rifle.
One is asking for an owner’s manual, the second with questions about the reports of problems with this particular model and the last one, specifically asking if the full warranty for life that they advertise will be honored in my case since I am not the first owner.
So that’s it for now. I’ll post pictures and report of what finally happens when I get the rifle.
I have the greatest respect for the marque by reference and would not want to be disappointed.

first, welcome to our community .... delighted to have you join us ....our preloading gate Henry CCH 45-70 has proven to be one heck of a rifle .... it has a very smooth action and dead on the money with both dangerous game and Cowboy Action level ammo .... the fact is, I wouldn't trade it for a brand new one with a loading gate .... you've had 45-70's so you are already familiar with their recoil ....

I also bought a second hand Henry. No problem at all with their warranty. And, as Jim says, that's a hell of a rifle. I was used to tube loading with an old Remington. No issues. Not planning on being caught up in a running gun battle without a much more serious firearm. Good luck.

Ruger was like that too, I don’t know now.
Function is what concerns me rather than firepower as you pointed out.
I’m a fan of single shot rifles as well.
