Good Evening, I've been lurking here for a few months reading up on the Henry rifle and finally became a member. I've always been a levergun fan but had always dismissed the Henry rifle prior to having a side loading gate. Once the X Model came out with a threaded barrel I started getting serious about obtaining one. First off I've always been a fan of the 357 Mag and own many different firearms in this caliber so I knew that would be my first purchase. Back in April I purchased a new Henry X Model in 357 mag and I love it. I've since added Skinner sights front and rear. When I was looking at my first Henry I seriously considered the X Model in 30-30 as I already have a 30 caliber suppressor but my love for the 357 Magnum won out. Last week a friend called me with a lead on a X Model in 30-30 used but never fired that was purchased less than 6 months ago. I wasted no time traveling to complete the purchase as it included a Leupold scope and Talley rings for a fraction of what the rifle alone cost new. I'm very pleased to now own two Henry rifles and look forward to reading your thoughts and ideas concerning Henry rifles in the future.

Welcome Twister, from central W TN.
Nice two, right off the bat, congrats.
And two very good calibers.
I too, like and own a few lever guns, mostly Marlins at the moment.
What's your pleasure?

Mr. Twister was a fishing lure but in my case it was the name of my first beagle that I used for hare hunting.

I've always loved lever guns, I've owned several Winchesters and Marlins. My Marlin SBL is one of my favorites but wheel guns hold a special place with me also.

Yes lever guns and wheelies, most of mine are single action.
