Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Hey everyone from, unfortunately, NY!
Hi,
I just picked up my first lever action ever. I did a ton of research before this purchase. I looked everywhere fir a few months. Finally found the Henry Carbine, side gate with colored casing in .357. I drove 45 miles north and I was lucky enough to locate the seller on gunbroker. Tri County Sports if anyone is looking for a Henry. This was his last in .357. My usual FFL who is a Henry dealer said he can't get any. I paid msrp, which given our current situation was fair.
I ordered the Henry soft case, the sling and lever wrap. I also needed to order a rifle cleaning rod and bore snake. Read that Henry recommends a cleaning before shooting it. My first carbine in 35 years when I purchased an Uzi and got rid of it after a year. Hated it!
I plan to share this with my 17 year old daughter, who did tell me she wanted to try shooting a rifle. Fingers .
See you all on the forum.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Re: Hey everyone from, unfortunately, NY!
I suspect your daughter will enjoy that rifle a bunch. There is very little recoil with a .357 carbine and yours has a very thick recoil pad that will eliminate the very small of recoil they generate. Start her out on 38 special ammo and work up to .357. Also make sure she is wearing good hearing protection so she doesn’t recoil from the noise of the shot.
Great choice in a rifle.
