Hello from South Texas

Post by Cleveraction » Mon Jan 04, 2021 4:45 pm

Hi all! Glad to have found this place. I have been a bolt action guy (rem 700 .243) for a long time, but finally saw the light! I have always admired my pal's Marlin and decided I really *needed* a lever gun. After much searching and thinking, I am really looking forward to taking delivery of my side gate 30-30 in the next week or so. Mainly deer/hogs/range in TX and some OK.

Happy to be here and if I can ever help, just holler.

Best regards,
C.A.

Hey CA. Welcome from Nebraska. Looking forward to your reports and pics.

Steel Lever Action .30-30 Side GateL https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/steel-l ... side-gate/

will be a field gun and not much into the brass look (as of yet :D ). Thought about the all weather, but could only find it in .357. The case hardened looked pretty neat and the octagonal barrel is a nice nod to history but added a little weight.

Best,
CA

our 357 is a BBS that predates the addition of a loading gate .... our Henry rifles are all hunters and I have no doubt that you will enjoy yours

Welcome to the forum. Post often and feel free to add pictures. You do realize that one Henry is never quite enough don't you? Levers are addictive.

Welcome from another Texan. I got my first Henry for Christmas from my two grown sons, Its a Big Boy Carbine in my favorite handgun caliber of .41magnum. Been looking for one for several years. Im located about half way between Houston and San Antonio just off Interstate 10. What part of South Texas are you located?
