Expanding a little on my opening post. As I shared there, discovering my first Henry was accidental happenstance. I was with my son and a friend. They were working with a store clerk to out fit their MRs. Entertaining for a while, but got bored with it so was looking over the other rifles in the racks. Then you see there was this drop dead gorgeous shiny brass H009B that caught my eye and wouldn't let go. Got to touch it and play with it a bit and handed it back. WHAT! NOOOO, YOU SAY. No worries, I came back the next day and took it home. I was hooked on first sight. Tried to resist an impulsive buy ... could only hold out until the next day. Took it out back to try and scare up a nutria. None that day, but tromping around, that beaut was getting heavy.

So started the need to accessorize! First up a sling. H009B has no swivel studs and I wasn't going to drill holes in it to mount them. So I went shopping for a pocket or harness sling and swivel stud tube clamp. The web search lead me to Brass Stacker. While ordering their harness sling for the H009B I noticed the size of the swivel stud tube clamp diameter looked too small for the diameter of the mag tube on my H009B. So measured my tube and yup bigger that the clamp they were offering. I called them on it. They said the tube clamp fit the H009B they had. So that put me into another web search for why my tube was bigger. A couple things happened. I learned there are a gen1 and gen 2 H009B. Mines a gen2 and Brass Stacker's was a gen1. [Correction March 5, 2019: Mine is a gen1 not a gen2] Ok mystery solved. In solving that mystery the 2nd thing occurred, I found this forum. Now mind you I don't join blogs, forums and other membership stuff that are on the web. The members here, the content they share and the manner in which it is shared, gave me pause. What a great forum! Like what happened with my first Henry, so likewise with being a member of my first online forum! The sum of it, I got here looking for a solution to a problem. I wasn't looking for a forum to join.

SH, did you select the 303lithgow moniker based on an Australian Lithgow bolt-action rifle? What was the model and caliber of it? I bet you might have some interesting history to share....possibly another thread line?

Sometimes not looking results in the best find. And others have said the same about our HRF: "What a great forum!"

Yes on the caliber and the Orange Arsenal in Lithgow, Australia.

I was looking for rail adapters for my wife .22 and ran across a mention of this site. Lurked around a bit and decided that this would be a fun place to read, post, meet people and get good ideas.

I had looked at Henry rifles off and on for 10 years or so and finally picked up a couple, one for both my wife and myself, just took me a while.

This thread slipped by me somehow. I have always liked lever guns; Mod 94 in 30-30, Marlin 39A. I've had those for years.
Got to talking to a relative about HD type rifles. Not AR types, as we live in Ca., so, those could possibly become extinct.
Lever rifles in handgun calibers came up and a major lightbulb went on in my head. Winchester's were too pricey, Marlin's were getting a bad rap. I then found out about Henry's. Looked around at LGS'. Nothing. Found one at a pawn shop and went online to learn of these here Henry's. Stumbled right into this site, found some terrific info and bought that BB brass .357 the next day. The .45 Colt came home about two months ago. That is how I found out about this site. The best site out there. Nice as could be. And I like that. Thank you ALL!

Hi from Pa. I just bought a Henry "Evil Roy" and soon to own a Henry single shot .357. I was looking to lessen the pull on the single and always look to the forums for answers. Thanks for the ad. I've been shooting pistols for years and finally getting back to rifles after quite a few years. Henry sold me.

Welcome from the Show-Me-State.

Congrats on your new .22 Evil Roy. Since you're also heading toward acquiring a Henry SS in .357 (great caliber), just know there are a bunch of Henry members here that are acquiring single shots. You'll be in great company.

Enjoy your time on the HRF.
