There are a quite a few owners here who have had great experiences with the Leupold VX-Freedom line (me included). Given the range of the Long Ranger (!), I went with the 4-12X40, but this was a couple of years ago. Not up to speed on the Freedom lineup today, but I'd imagine some version of it is still out there.
