New Henry Pump .22
Hey Y'all
Picked up my Henry pump a couple of weeks ago, and have put a couple hundred rounds thru it. Really like the quality and the Octagon barrel. I switched out the stock sight for a Williams peep sight yesterday, and mounted it on the dovetail on the receiver. Had to do some filing, but got it on. Haven't tried it out yet though. I think I'm going to have to change the front sight to a higher one.

You may have to change out the front sight, but I think you'll really enjoy that peep sight on your pump. Welcome to the forum.

Nice pump...nice peep. Will be interesting to learn if the front sight stays or goes.
You bought a nice Henry. Welcome, and enjoy.

Very nice rifle, love the peep!
About 50 some years ago I had a little Winchester octagonal barrel pump .22 that only chambered .22 shorts.
They were used in all the shooting galleries back in the old days. Anyway the Winchester was a tack driver that could hit crickets floating in a drainage ditch, white pebbles in the mud, necco candies laid out for targets and anything else you could see. You can't beat a pump .22 for plinking, it's the king of plink!
Perfect little squirrel rifle, too.

Congrats on the new pump and welcome to the forum. I as well have one of the pumps and enjoy the heck out of shooting it. It took about 500 rounds thru it to get to to loosen up but now she runs well. Al

Hello .... welcome to the Forum, and congratulations on your new Henry!

Re: New Henry Pump .22
Welcome. I recently picked up a pump as well...nice little shooter. It will be interesting to see your thoughts on the peep, once you have everything sorted. I was leaning in that direction myself...

Re: New Henry Pump .22
Welcome aboard, I don’t have a pump gun.....yet. The last Henry pump I fondled in a shop felt really good. And it kept telling me you need me, take me home. My wallet talked me out of it.
Load on Sunday and Shoot all Week.......okay it's a Mare's Leg I will reload on Wednesday.
Re: New Henry Pump .22
Id throw that wallet away and get a male wallet. Its clear to me you have a female wallet.RetiredSeabee wrote:Welcome aboard, I don’t have a pump gun.....yet. The last Henry pump I fondled in a shop felt really good. And it kept telling me you need me, take me home. My wallet talked me out of it.

One big thing for me is the grooved receiver for a scope.
