I just purchased my first Henry. Big Boy 357 magnum. Put on a scope, to help poor eyesight. Then went to range I tried several brands of ammo and some 38 specials. I love this gun!!! Most out of the box ammo gave ragged hole. I have a lot of guns but none have been so much fun from the very start. I also hand load and look forward to chatting with others about it.

I've tried a number of different loads for it. My go to load balances cost, ease of loading, and accuracy. I use Xtreme 158 grain HPs over a medium load of Universal. A 158 grain jacketed over 4227 is more accurate by a little, but a lot more expensive to shoot. Since we go through at least 100 every week, Cost is an issue.
