That, as opposed to the "People's Republic" of New Jersey. Where we live, near the Pinelands, the deer seem to outnumber the people, and the people who do live here are mostly traditionally American in the best sense of that word. I am the happy owner of a Henry 30-30 side gate rifle, and most recently, a Silver Eagle in .22LR. When I got the 30-30, my wife (who does not shoot) thought it we should display it in the den. It is indeed a beautiful firearm. I love my Silver Eagle, and just received my Skinner peep sight for it. I hope I'll be able to improve my shooting when I can see the target and the front sight in focus at the same time. I also have a couple of CZ457 bolt action rifles, both insanely accurate, which I am very fond of. And a few handguns, including a Springfield 1911, an M92 Beretta, a Ruger six-gun in .357, and a couple of Glocks, which I'm told are dishwasher-safe, although I've not tested this.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, relatively new to the shooting sports, with an appreciation for fine machines of all kinds (my father owned a machine company)--engines, tools, boats, oscilloscopes, whatever. I enjoy landscape photography (using a film camera-- you get the idea, I'm retro), gardening, cooking, and classical music. Actually, all music that comes from the heart.
Best wishes to all the fine folks here for a joyful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.
