King Cake

Post by JEBar » Sun Jan 29, 2017 5:13 pm

a few years ago while winter camping in Louisiana we were introduced to a King Cake ===> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_cake

today while grocery shopping in Willis, TX we found some for sale and simply had to take the one shown home the one shown below .... about the best way I can describe it would be a Krispy Kreme cake with really good icing .... the cake mixes and icings can vary in taste, ours shown below has creme cheese icing .... they aren't sold around home and are one of the things we look forward to when coming to Texas to spend the winter

Very interesting, sweets like that have always been my weakness. That one really looks good.

Dave beat me to it.... We used to get them on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi and Louisiana. Always had either a ring or a gold crown in the center.
I miss the coast during Mardi Gras. I miss Mud Bugs, PoBoys, and really good Jambalaya.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
