Slow Cooker Cooking
Since I have taken on the duty of chef around here I keep looking for the easy ways. Tonight it's going to be pork chops in JD BBQ sauce (6 hours on low) and baked sweet potatoes.

That sounds terrific, should taste terrific also. I love meals in the crock pots. The last thing she made in ours was chili. We have two six quart crock pots and used both of them to make the chili. We ate some right away, froze some and gave some to the neighbor.

Slow Cooker Pot Roast:
3 lb. chuck roast
Carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped
Celery, coarsely chopped
Onion, sliced
2 Whole Garlic Cloves
Flour
Ketchup
Red wine
Layer bottom of crockpot with carrots, celery, sliced onion and 2 garlic cloves. Sprinkle some flour on the vegetables, and some ketchup. Season the roast, heat oil in a heavy skillet, and sear the roast till brown on all sides. Place roast on top of vegetables in crockpot, pour in a splash of red wine, cover and cook all day on low. Drink the remaining red wine while roast cooks.

Re: Slow Cooker Cooking
That sounds like a great meal. What my wife does is take a Pork Loin Roast and puts it in the Crock Pot with a jar of Green Salsa. When it is done she pulls it apart with fork and we have it with tortillas. Muy Bueno.

My brother does squirrels in a slow cooker with barbecue sauce and they are very good and really tender. I don't use the slow cooker for squirrels or rabbits because mine are already nice and tender from cold packing.
Crock pots work so well for cooking different things I don't know how you get along with out one. Chili is great done in them.

Re: Slow Cooker Cooking
I think chili is my favorite thing to do in a slow cooker.
Second place goes to bone-in country style ribs. I season them with Tony's, garlic powder and black pepper, and a quartered onion. When the meat is done, I remove the bones, put the meat in a 13x9 inch pan, pour on some BBQ sauce, and heat it in the oven for 30 minutes.

I do squirrel in a crock pot with BBQ sauce too. It comes out delicious, pulled squirrel.
