Since I was a boy….. couple of hundred years ago, my favorite pie has been Pecan.
Even though most of them have been kind of a sticky gooey filling.
This recipe doesn’t use the typical ingredient of kayro syrup. So not sticky or gooey at all.
Simple ingredients and easy to put it together.
You’ll need a 9” pie pan and crust. I use store bought crusts.
Dark brown sugar gives a deeper flavor, but light brown tastes more like traditional pecan pie.
1 cup brown sugar packed.
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
I prefer a course chop but fine chop works out well too.
Preheat oven to 400 f.
Place crust in pan then chill till ready to fill.
Whisk both sugars, melted butter, salt, eggs, flour, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Stir in pecans.
Pour into pan with crust.
Cover the edges of the crust with foil. (I wasted money on one of those silicone crust shields).
Bake at 400 f. For ten minutes then reduce heat to 350. For 30 to 40 minutes till the center is just slightly jiggly edges should be set.
Let it cool completely at room temperature before slicing.
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Re: Pecan Pie
While it was my Mom’s favorite I never cared for Pecan Pie as I found it to be too rich. But, that pie you pictured looks fantastic and as you mentioned not gooey.
