Who remembers the lid shortages in the early 70’s?
What kind of lids are we talking about?😉
Far out man! Except I meant canning lids.
I was in my teens and early 20's in the 70's but I never inhaled. 8-)

as mentioned above, last year we ordered lids and rings from Amazon that were shown as being American made .... about all I can say is, it was a bait and switch .... the ones we received were made in China and were close to useless .... Amazon refunded our money but didn't take any action we know of against the company .... also as noted, this year I called their customer service and was assured that the order I was getting ready to place is for American made lids .... they won't be here for a week or so but that will be plenty of time .... the Chinese ones will become targets . ;) . its time to get creative in using them :D

What was the problem with the made in China lids? Seems Amazon should take it more seriously, someone could get very ill of even die eating from a jar that didn't seal properly.

rings extremely thin and flimsy .... sized to where you couldn't tighten them down .... rings not consistent in size or seal material .... very light weight

Were they counterfeit Ball or Kerr brand lids? That's about the only kind I would be comfortable using but it can be difficult to tell from the packaging. The Chinese are very good at making products look genuine. My flashlight forum was showing some name brand battery chargers and you couldn't tell looking at the packaging or the charger, you had to actually open them to see the sub-standard parts and soldering.
