OK, this one is a bit "different" .... as background, a day after the close of this year's Estelline Rodeo they held a Draft Horse Pull .... prior to the start of the Pull they offered free chopped pork or beef sandwiches .... as one who has run a catering business I found the chopped pork to be very good and with a touch of the BBQ sauce they provided, it jumped several levels to something special .... the sauce turned out to be made in a small town in South Dakota by the James Valley Company ....
"James Valley Company produces the finest quality buck lures and scents, nutritious dog treats, and tasty barbecue sauce. " .... yep, buck scents, dog treats and BBQ Sauce .... the taste of the sauce is similar to some I've eaten in Kansas City .... it can be found for sale at many local places and for a bit more money, it can be ordered from Amazon .... we plan to take a couple of gallons of the sauce home with us

this afternoon we smoked our first Baby Back Pork Ribs using Big John's Old West BBQ Sauce .... used the 3-2-1 method with our Traveler Country Smoker set on 225 degrees .... after removing membrane, thoroughly sprinkled the ribs with our SPG and used Pit Boss Competition Blend pellets .... to put it mildly, they turned out really well .... until if/when we find something we like better, this will be our go-to way to prepare Baby Back Ribs
