New Grill Table

Post by JEBar » Wed Apr 28, 2021 6:35 pm

starting back in '07 our site setup featured a large folding table like the one shown in the first picture below .... at that time we put out a grill, cook top and often an oven that can be seen in that picture .... for the last few years we only setup the cook top and stove when needed and those times have been few and far between .... as a result we've given the table shown below to one of our kids and purchased a GCI Outdoor Compact Camp 25 Outdoor Folding Table....based on its ratings, it can easily handle the weight of our Country Smoker Traveler smoker/grill .... my only concern is how well will be able to stand up to South Dakota and Texas winds .... on the occasions where we may wish to setup our cook top and/or oven one of our regular metal TV trays will serve, as seen in the second picture .... this change frees up some space in our camper's basement which can now be used for other things

I love consolidating and down sizing. Well done.

understood and agree .... at some point a camper's storage capacity will be reached and to add more something has to be done to create space

here is a YouTube video link to a 47 second video on how to setup and take down a GCI Outdoor Compact Camp 25 Outdoor Folding Table .... I quickly learned that right out of the box the legs don't slide as easily or as smoothly as shown in the video .... after spraying them with a little dry lube and working them in and out a few times, the action greatly improved and effort needed to work them declined considerably .... our Traveler smoker/grill weighs 40 lbs and this table is rated up to 60 .... I'm still curious as to its stability in wind .... I'm already considering coming up with a simple anchor like the one used with portable satellite dishes .... hopefully one won't be needed

it continues to loosen up and as it does, setup and take down becomes quicker and smoother .... no matter if it becomes our grill table or not, its a good product that will come in handy and we consider it to be a good buy

well, our search for a grill table continues .... our next effort is a Camco Deluxe Foldable Outdoor Grilling Table with Side Tables & Cup Holders ===> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078L ... UTF8&psc=1 .... first impressions are mostly positive .... super easy/quick to setup .... side-to-side stability is very good .... front to back stability is not bad but not any where near as solid .... time will tell
