I’m not an Ambassador for GMG but I have not had any of the problems Jebar had with his first Davy unit.

They have been great and have brought a new level of taste to the meats we have been eating.

please don't let my experience with our first one have too great of an impact on your thinking .... I'm convinced that all that was wrong with it was the program in the control unit .... based on conversations with their customer service I learned ours wasn't the only one giving trouble .... once we downloaded the revised program and changed a setting in her phone program to high heat, all of the problems evaporated .... I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one

I thank you both. Both of your opinions carry a lot of weight with my decision.

yesterday we ran the first of what we hope will be many, many more batches of sausage through our Davy Crockett Smoker .... the sausage is made at a local abattoir (fancy word for slaughterhouse) where they take live cows, deer, and pigs to be processed .... we've dealt with them since the late 70's .... during that time we were catering "PIg Pick'ns" and have purchased an untold number of whole hogs ....

another 1st that went extremely well .. 8-) .. specifically, smoking a whole chicken .... the pictures below pretty well tell the story .... 1st going in the smoker ... 2nd after 45 min at 325 .... 3rd after 90 min at 325 .... 4th done, after 40 min bumped up to 350 .... sprayed with spray butter to start with .... sprayed with cooking oil at 45 min mark .... sprayed with butter after 90 min mark .... turned out really well .... very moist and tender .... good flavor
